How the surrogacy program works for clients
Working with Militta starts with trust and attention to every detail. The whole program is divided into several key stages, from the first meeting to the newborn's documents.
1. Initial consultation and meeting
At the first stage you meet our coordinators and doctors. We explain the surrogacy process in detail: the legal aspects, timelines, finances and answers to frequent questions. The consultation can take place at our Kyiv office or online for international clients.
2. Tests and preparation for the program
Before the medical stage both partners are examined: tests, ultrasound and specialist consultations. This data helps select the best-suited surrogate mother and, if donor material is used, the donor. The medical stages are performed by the licensed partner clinic "Lita" (Kyiv), which Militta has worked with since 2019; pregnancy care and delivery take place in a state maternity hospital in Kyiv.
3. Signing the contract and legal formalities
Once the candidates are approved and the medical preparation is complete, an official contract is signed. It sets out the rights and obligations of the parties, the financial terms, payment stages and guarantees. All documents are notarized and fully comply with Ukrainian law. Militta clients receive personal legal support throughout.
4. Selecting the surrogate mother and the donor
The agency has a large database of screened surrogate mothers and egg donors. Every candidate undergoes medical, psychological and legal screening. The selection takes your wishes into account, from medical parameters to personal preferences. We ensure full confidentiality and transparency.
5. Medical program and pregnancy support
After the embryo transfer Militta organizes and monitors every stage of the pregnancy: regular check-ups, nutrition, accommodation and psychological support. Clients receive updates on the surrogate mother's condition: 1 to 2 times a week in the first trimester, every two weeks in the second and several times a week or daily in the third. 6. Delivery and documents
After the birth the agency's partner lawyers handle the documents promptly. The clients are named as the parents on the birth certificate and, where needed, we arrange legalization and apostille for international clients. Your family officially welcomes the long-awaited baby without unnecessary stress or bureaucracy.
How it works in practice
- After your request. A manager contacts you within a few hours during working hours or on the next business day. The first consultation takes place at our Kyiv office or online; afterwards we communicate in the messenger you prefer.
- Who joins and when. The partner clinic "Lita" at the first visit and screening stage; the lawyers at the notarized contract stage; your personal coordinator from the start of the program until the birth.
- How often you get updates. First trimester 1 to 2 times a week, second trimester every two weeks, third trimester and preparation for delivery several times a week or daily. Unplanned situations are reported immediately.
- What Militta takes care of. A full health audit of candidates, control of the surrogate's medical regimen, communication with the clinic and maternity hospital, translations, help with embassy paperwork.
- What remains with the parents. Collecting personal documents, timely financing of the program, providing the biological material, submitting documents to the embassy.
- Program formats. Guaranteed programs include repeated transfers until a child is born; in basic programs repeated attempts are paid separately. A repeat (frozen) transfer does not require paying again for retrieval or embryo creation. The exact price is calculated individually and fixed in the contract.
- What may cost extra. A twin or caesarean bonus to the surrogate, treatment of complications and pregnancy maintenance, neonatal intensive care; these costs are borne by the intended parents.
- After the birth. The intended parents are recorded on the birth certificate directly (no adoption) and receive the medical and legal documents; foreign parents legalize them at their embassy. Militta has hands-on experience with children's documents in Ukraine and with programs in Georgia.
