Requirements for Surrogate Mothers

How the Program Works:

Currently, MILITTA agency offers surrogacy programs that are partly carried out in Ukraine and partly in Georgia.

Start in Kyiv

Initial examinations and preparation take place in Kyiv. If you are from another city, we reimburse your travel expenses.

Embryo Transfer in Georgia

We arrange your trip to Tbilisi. Two options are available: by bus to Chisinau and then by plane to Tbilisi.
In Tbilisi, we provide accommodation and a meal allowance.

Pregnancy in Ukraine

After the pregnancy is confirmed, you return home and spend most of the pregnancy there.

Delivery in Tbilisi

At 28–30 weeks, you relocate to Georgia for delivery. We organize transport and provide accommodation.

Why is Surrogacy Necessary?

Surrogacy is often used as a method to overcome infertility in couples when a woman is unable to carry and deliver a child for medical reasons. These reasons include:

• Absence of primary reproductive organs
• Deformation of the uterine cavity or cervix
• Conditions that make pregnancy and delivery life-threatening for the woman
• Multiple failed IVF attempts in the past
• Structural or anatomical changes in the uterine endometrium
• Severe somatic illnesses

These circumstances can be significant obstacles to having a child. However, the surrogacy center at the Militta Medical Center in Georgia is capable of effectively resolving any issues.

Requirements for Potential Surrogate Mothers

A surrogate mother must be at least 18 years old and have a confirmed high level of physical and psychological health. She must have at least one healthy child.

Finding a surrogate mother on your own can be quite challenging, especially if you are new to this method of overcoming infertility. The Militta Surrogacy Center thoroughly examines candidates and provides important recommendations for intended parents.

Stages of the Surrogacy Program in Georgia

1. Selection of a surrogate mother
2. Synchronization of cycles between the genetic and surrogate mother
3. Hormonal stimulation of ovulation in the biological mother
4. Follicle puncture and egg retrieval from the biological mother, as well as sperm collection from the biological father
5. Fertilization and embryo cultivation in a specialized incubator
6. Embryo transfer into the surrogate mother's uterine cavity

When the program takes place abroad

• Travel to the country of the program is organized and paid for by the agency.
• Accommodation during the program is provided by the agency; relocating with children is possible.
• Transfers between the accommodation, the clinic and the maternity hospital are accompanied.
• Additional expenses not covered by the program are discussed in advance and fixed in the contract.

Cost of Surrogacy

The surrogate mother's compensation after delivery at the Militta Center ranges from $17,000 to $32,200.
